Welcome! This is where you will find all the information and resources you need for our week of learning. Please review the materials below and give yourself ample time to complete the required reading (we recommend two weeks).

As a filmmaking and education collaborative, we are often filming and photographing our events and we would be grateful for your participation in these representations of Upstander Academy. If you are willing to appear in photos, videos, and audio from Upstander Academy please complete this release form.
during the academy:
Upstander Academy will be held at First Parish of Watertown located at 35 Church St, Watertown, MA 02472. There is free street parking available nearby on Spring and Summer Streets. If you are driving a car and planning to park at the church, please send your license plate number to Laura@upstanderproject.org so we can more easily keep track of who is parked in the lot. Please see THIS document for information about public transportation from Boston to Watertown and nearby hotels.
For Day 1: Bring an item from the natural world and a paper plate with a value written on it in large letters using a dark-colored marker. This value (one or two words only, please!) is something you want the Upstander Academy to embrace. You will present this on Day 1 of the Academy when you introduce yourself.
Packing list: water bottle, travel mug, notebook, laptop or tablet, charging cords.
There will be coffee, tea, and snacks provided each day. Please see the schedule for a list of meals that will be provided each day.
