UMass graduate Mishy Lesser uses film set in Rwanda to teach about violence

“The film called "Coexist" is set in Rwanda , but the story of genocide in that East African country has much to teach about violence and reconciliation here.

University of Massachusetts graduate Mishy Lesser and her filmmaking partner Adam Mazo are hoping to raise enough money so that even more can see the film that they are screening and discussing at film festivals, colleges, high and middle schools.
American Public Television has selected the film to screen on public television, but that means editing the film – it needs to be 56 minutes not 40 as it is now and it will need close captioning as well. They have until Feb. 3 to raise the $15,000-plus to do so.”
